The Wicked Confessions of Lady Cecelia Stanton is a young society matron's diary of her greatest secrets and desires.

The susceptibility of women in Regency society shines through in every diary entry. Cecelia has no choice in her marriage partner and must obey her husband wishes in everything.

Little wonder then she turns for comfort to her worldly wise maid Bess who guides her through the pitfalls of an arranged Regency marriage.

This is not a glamorous Regency romance of elegant London town houses or high society balls just life in the country and year on year pregnancy.
Autobiographical in style it has a realistic edge. Romance is absent from the numerous sexual encounters.

I didn't find any of the characters particularly endearing which maybe intentional to add realism to the uncomplicated plot.

The Wicked Confessions of Lady Cecelia Stanton is an interesting story worth a read if you like your historical romance erotic and realistic.

I received a copy of this book from Harlequin Enterprises Australia Escape Publishing in return for an honest review.
